Sri Lanka School
Since the inception of the school in 2017, more than 400 students have received education. Over 50 have finished their high school graduation. Currently the school has an enrollment of 170 children in this campus. 2 other smaller campus has been opened since September 2019. A total of 300 students are enrolled from second grade to 12th grade.
The school system works quite differently in Sri Lanka than other parts of the world. The students are enrolled in a government operated school. In the morning they go and attend the government school for 2 hours and then they come to our school. The government school ( sad to say ) functions only as testing center. They do not teach and it is up to the student to learn on his/her self. The failure rate of students that attend the government school without additional tuition is 98%. Our school functions as a liaison between the Government school and test readiness.
Children come from the local community. All Children are accepted in the school regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. Parents volunteer to clean the campus and assist the teachers during the school year. No child left behind is the policy. Thanks to all the donors all over the world who contributed to this campus. So far our organization has spent $180,000 for this school. Per month to run the school it costs $1200 to pay the staff and maintain the school. Your monthly gift helps us in continuing to give a top class education to the children of Sri Lanka.
