Water Projects

Yes, in this 21st Century, there are many communities still battling to have proper drinking water in their homes. In the Northern region of Sri Lanka there are communities with several hundreds of families still have not been provided with drinking water by the municipality. The first one we started a year ago has been a great benefit to the community.

From the school water tank, a 200 feet water tap was placed outside the compound wall. This is a life saving free water given to as many as needed. Several families come and fetch the water from long distance. This is unfair to the families as they have to come in a bicycle to fetch a pot or a bucket of water to their families. They should have it in their own community. Since this was the first project and a great success,  we are planning to dig at least 10 wells around the community so that water can be supplied to the families at a shorter distance from their homes. Each bore-well costs anywhere between $800 to $1500 depending on the number of feet we find the water underground. A hand pump is placed once all the pipes are connected together. This operates without any electricity and the water is available 24/7.  The well is dug in a public area so that all families can come and fetch water without any inhibition. The water is completely free for everyone and no one person or family will own the well.

Please join our team to provide those 10 wells needed immediately.
