Andrew and Savita Prakasam are the founders of Share in Asia. They have their roots in India. God has been using them in many countries where people have been set free from the bondage of sin and have been miraculously healed.
As a small boy, the Lord gave Andrew a burden to preach in the streets of his City. He led a ministry called Dawn Preaching along with his brother Peter. As young boys, “we memorized about 20 Scriptures about Salvation and the second coming of Jesus and preached in every corner of the City” says Andrew. While pursuing a degree, he joined the local air force academy thinking some day he will become a fighter pilot. When he was about to take fly his solo, he heard the call of God to full time ministry. After his completion of a Bachelor’s in science degree, without applying for job, he straight away left to the United States to pursue Bible training. He completed another Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral ministry and music from Zion Bible Institute and Southeastern University of the Assemblies of God and served in a church as a youth pastor. He left back to India in 1989 and worked under his father’s ministry for about 7 years. In 1991 he was married to Savita Prakasam daughter of Dr. & Mrs. Emmanuel James. He helped to pioneer the Church in India and later moved to another City called Bangalore where he supervised 6 churches. As the ministries were multiplying, there was a great need for financial resources for the ministries. In 1995, his family along with a new born son, Nathaniel moved to the United States and settled in Seattle Washington. Also Hannah was born in 1998 December and right now, they live in Kirkland Washington. They served in the City Church as the International Pastors of The City Church under Pastor Wendell and Gini smith for few years.
Andrew and Savita founded a mission called Share in Asia through which they support indigenous missions in India, Nepal, Srilanka and Pakistan. He often travels to many other nations to preach the Gospel. They have a great burden for the nations in Asia that needs the Gospel.
Andrew and Savita Prakasam, with a vision to help the poor and the under privileged in India, started Share in Asia in 1995. Now Share In Asia cares for over a 100 children who are either Tsunami orphaned or from low-income groups, through children homes. Widows whose lives are battered are helped every month, pastors from rural areas are helped financially, church buildings are built in rural areas, scholarship for poor medical and engineering students, public schools are helped, leprosy patients' rehabilitation, tribal people, sex workers' rehabilitation and various other projects in India and Nepal. You can find out more of the accomplishments here.
Share in Asia now has extended into Nepal, Srilanka and to Pakistan. Andrew has traveled extensively to Europe, South America, Australia and within the United States. He has ministered in 29 nations around the world. His heart of compassion to reach the poor and underprivileged is remarkable. His wife Savita is a great prayer warrior and is employed with a local corporation.
