Little Tsunami Girl wants to grow up to be a Teacher!

“Hello All! I used to have two brothers and one sister... But not anymore. It happened this way. My mother was affected by Tuberculosis and was very weak. My house used to be near the seashore. One beautiful morning, the Tsunami waves came bashing against our house and took my brother away. I’ve not seen him since then. My mother could not bear the pain of losing her son and she died of a heart attack. My father likes to drink too much alcohol. He did not pay any attention to us.  He came home once in a while but we did not even have food to eat even once in a day. After my mother’s death, only my aunt came to help us. But she is also very poor and she has a weak heart. Trying to erase all this tragedies from my mind, I joined the Share In Asia Tsunami Relief Home at Sirkali. Slowly my life started to change and today I am very glad to be living in this new home. I don’t have to worry about getting food to eat as I get plenty here three times a day. Instead I go to school everyday. I like my teacher and when I grow up someday I want to become a teacher. I have also come to know about Jesus. This is a wonderful place and I like it here.”                   Tamilarasi, 7 year old Tsunami Girl
