A land of religions and cultures!

With an overwhelming population of over 1.2 billion people, only next to China, India is the second largest country in the world. With every religion represented under the sun, Hinduism is the major religion with over 80% believing anything and everything is god. Animals like cobras, cows monkeys, rats, peacocks and elephants are worshipped as gods. With a variety of idols numbering 333 million gods and goddesses, no one exactly knows the extent of the religion and its deep traditions. India is a deep religious country looking for the true God.

The Biggest cities in India are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta Chennai and Bangalore. The Most visited place in India is the Taj Mahal, a tomb built by a king called Shah Jahan for his wife after her death. Other historical places include Big hindu temples, rivers, monuments and cultural centers that spans the entire nation.

India consists of 28 states and 7 Union Territories. There are 1546 languages and 22 languages have been recognized by the government as official languages. 422 million people speak the language called “Hindi” which is about 400 years old.

There are 620 thousands villages and 400 major Cities with 604 districts.

81 % of Indians are Hindus and 12% follow the Islamic religion. Christians are about 5%. Other religions include Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism.
